There are around 20, 000 temples here, some very small and others well worth visiting for their architecture and ornate decorations. Let’s be honest here: there is no place in the world that is more bureaucratic than a border; you get the joy of dealing with not just one government, but two (including your own).

If you’re coming to Wonosobo by bus, it’s advisable that you request to be dropped off at Plasa (which is one stop away from Mendolo) to take the minibus to Dieng Plateau. 1.10 pm – Arrive in Wonosobo (dropped off at Plasa). Minibuses from Wonosobo usually drop you off near here. The decor here is simply sublime. Don’t go here on a weekend or public holiday if you dislike crowds. Once landed, visitors can board a taxi, public bus, a mass rapid transport, or an airport shuttle from the airport. Out of respect, it is suggested that couples refrain from public displays of affection and that women are covered up to a certain extent. There are no minibuses from Mendolo to Dieng! Could’ve done it in 15 minutes, but there were plenty of people going up too. People used to be more engaged in conferences and meetings which would keep him from going on any outings.
